Breakfast at hotel, and…the adventure begins ... our local agent will deliver your 4x4 vehicle (Toyota Hilux) ready for departure and will report on the state of the roads, service stations and whatever else, maybe useful for your trip, we recommend to make provision in Comodoro of what maybe essential goods and personal effects, since it will not be possible to purchase such articles for the next 3 days, the first part of the day will be spent covering the approx 200 km to reach the petrified forest of Sarmento, please remember that in Patagonia is advisable to fill up at every service station, where are also usually found drinks and snacks, after the interesting visit to the petrified forest, continue westward until you meet the notorious Route 40, near the small town of Perito Moreno, after filling up proceed southward for just 30 more km to reach the Estancia Telken where a good dinner and a comfortable bed await you for the well deserved rest, overnight i

Day 5 – ESTANCIA TELKEN / CUEVA DE LAS MANOS / POSADAS LAKE

After breakfast, and having bought some farm food for lunch, keep going south along the Ruta 40, up to the junction where will turn for the Cueva de las Manos, highly spectacular is the landscape surrounding the cave famous for its rock paintings, with a huge canyon that opens suddenly into a depression of the Patagonian steppe, after the walk to visit the cave, back on the road always heading south, immersed in the wild, untouched beauty of the ever tiring patagonian landscape, upon reaching the junction for the lake Posadas, turn towards the homonymous village, where you will be accommodated at the Hosteria del Posadas, dinner and overnight. (kilometres of the day: 340, all on unpaved road).

Day 6 – POSADAS LAKE

Breakfast and dinner at the Hosteria, day at leisure to explore the environs of that pristine area of the Andean cordillera.

Day 7 – POSADAS LAKE / ESTANCIA LA ANGOSTURA

Breakfast at the Hosteria, and after a day’s rest from the driving , is time to get back on the Ruta 40 heading south, please remember to make provisions for lunch, having to afford approx 400 km in a journey, through landscapes of rare charme for its wild and unspoiled beauty, where the only sign of the passage of the human being is the dirt road, with destination the area of Lake Cardiel and the Estancia La Angostura, time at leisure to stretch your legs around the farm, dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – ESTANCIA LA ANGOSTURA / EL CHALTEN – FITZ ROY

Breakfast at the farm, being the expected drive of the day relatively short (approx 200 km), some time can be allowed for a little 'relaxation by the lake, or for an horseback ride in the vicinity.

El Chalten, is a starting point for hiking and climbing to the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.

The last 80 km of the journey are particularly evocative, when bordering the lake Viedma, with on the background the majestic Fitz Roy, hotel accommodation, overnight.

Day 9 – EL CHALTEN

Breakfast at hotel, day at leisure to relax, or to make local excursions, we recommend a trek up to base camp for climbers on Fitz Roy, where it is easy enough to meet with members of the many expeditions and have a talk with them about the mythical mountain, overnight.

Day 10 – EL CHALTEN / EL CALAFATE

Breakfast at hotel, the day’s drive will be of approx 220 km, to reach the village of El Calafate, starting point for all the excursions to the Glaciers National Park,  once in the village it will be possible to find all sorts of articles in its many shops, accommodation and overnight at hotel.

Day 11 – EL CALAFATE

Breakfast at hotel, our suggestion for the day, is to go and explore, what we consider the focal point of a voyage to Patagonia,  the Perito Moreno glacier, about 120 km from the village, the best feature of the Perito Moreno glacier is its accessibility: the front, 3 km wide, 70 feet high for 35 km depth is incredibly observable from a few feet, the Perito Moreno glacier is one of few in the world  still slightly advancing, so is not unusual to hear loud rumbles, due to cracks that occur in its depth, it is also usual to observe large icebergs that break off loudly from its front, we also suggest a small boat trip under the glacier front, or alternatively feeling adventurous is possible to take a trek on the glacier, which last roughly four hours (it is advisable to book it in advance), return at the hotel in the evening, overnight.

Day 12 – EL CALAFATE / MOUNT LEON / PIEDRA BUENA

Breakfast at hotel, with an early start, leave the 'civilization' of the village of El Calafate to begin the return portion of our adventure, this time with the compass almost always pointing north, after about 320 km of gravel road, will reach the entrance of the new and fascinating Monte Leon National Park, with its striking natural rock formations falling sheer to the sea, during the visit of the park, there will always be the friendly presence of the Magellan penguins, continuing then to the village of Piedra Buena, hotel accommodation, overnight.

Day 13 – PIEDRA BUENA / PUERTO DESEADO

Breakfast at hotel, spend most of the day for the drive, roughly 500 km, mainly on sealed road, to reach the village of Puerto Deseado, with an early start and an extra 100 km, on the way it will be possible to visit the petrified forest of Jaramillo, in the early evening, arrival at Deseado, one of the most important ports in the south of Argentina, located, right on the mouth of the “ria” the wide estuary of the Deseado river, through which the sea water, penetrates inland for approx 60 km, hotel accommodation, overnight

Day 14 – PUERTO DESEADO

Breakfast at hotel, day at leisure, to take boat trips, along the coast or within the “ria”, during which is possible to observe, the local fauna, of penguins, cormorants, dolphins, manta rays and more…in other words a true paradise for fauna lovers…., overnight.

Day 15 - PUERTO DESEADO / CABO BLANCO / COMODORO RIVADAVIA

Breakfast at hotel, last leg of the journey back to Comodoro, approximately 430 km, shortly after departure from Deseado, will leave the tarmac road, to go and visit the lighthouse at Cabo Blanco, a lovely spot off  the beaten tracks, but full of charm, where as usual, the welcome will be offered by colonies of penguins and cormorants of various species…, arrival in the evening in Comodoro, hotel accommodation, overnight.

Day 16 - COMODORO RIVADAVIA / BUENOS AIRES

Breakfast at hotel, morning at leisure, to return the vehicle and re arrange the luggage after 12 days on the road and…. roughly 3,300 km of… real Patagonia!!! In the early afternoon transfer to the airport and departure by scheduled flight to Buenos Aires, upon arrival, meet with our local representative and transfer to hotel, rest of the day at leisure, overnight.

Day 17 – BUENOS AIRES / POINT OF ORIGIN
